Survey Results

Two weeks ago I asked people to fill out a one-question survey in order to help me fine-tune the direction I’m taking with my Choose The Life You Want programs. The question was simple:

What stops you from Choosing The Life You Want?

I offered the following choices (and allowed people to provide their own answers or explain their choice):

  • Not enough time
  • Not enough money
  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of success
  • Lack of support from others
  • Limits placed on me by others
  • I’m not actually clear on what I want
  • Difficulty committing and taking action

I have to say – the results of the survey surprised me.  I expected that “not enough time” and “not enough money” would be the top answers.  But have a look at the results:

I was surprised by how many people weren’t clear about what they actually want in their life.  I was also surprised by how many people expressed difficulty committing and taking action.

There were also a great deal of people who provided a more detailed response. I’m still combing through those responses.

Based on this valuable feedback, I will be making some changes to the Choose The Life You Want offerings in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned!

So? What do you think?  Were you as surprised as I was?  Feel free to share your feedback in the comments section.

  1. I’m not at all surprised. Difficilty with the concrete issues like time or money are never what really stop us. The more complex issues like not knowing what your direction is are the ones that can stop you cold. That’s what coaching’s all about, after all!

  2. What a surprise!!!

Almost all people need our help!!!
Let’s go outside and support them…

  3. I could relate- Fear of Failure.
I was surprised and it was clear that others are feeling the same.

There are two things that I truly regreat in my LIFE- An Education and my ability to learn a second language.
Sounds Crazy- but life has been busy!! A Father and a Husband is a challenge and I continue to worry and think about tomorrow and how Im stuck in a WEB. Getting out is truly hardship and challenging when bills knock at your door every month.
