How Much Change Is Needed?

Often, when we are faced with a situation that we’d like to change we can become overwhelmed at the sheer amount of change that is necessary to make a difference and the level of effort that will be involved to produce that much change.

But are we correct in our estimation of the amount of change that’s actually required?  Seth Godin suggests that as little as 15% changes everything.

And as for the level of effort – You need to remember that change is exponential.  This means that the simple act of making one small change sets in motion a series of forces that can begin to change everything.  That first change makes the other changes easier because there is momentum.

Remember your high school physics?  “A body at rest remains at rest and a body in motion remain in motion.”

So if you’re not happy with your situation – get moving!
